The Finalists for Wirral Business Awards are revealed!

The Wirral Business Awards 2023 will take place this summer and honour the accomplishments of Wirral businesses. This prominent regional event will showcase the achievements of companies of all shapes, sizes, and diverse sectors.

Wirral Chamber of Commerce has announced that the finalists for the Wirral Business Awards 2023 have now been selected. Those named will participate in the grand final event on June 30th, at Woodside Food & Market, when individual winners in the six categories will be unveiled.

The annual Wirral Business Awards, which have long been recognised as a key event in the regional business calendar, aim to recognise and honour organisations and individuals within its business community and Wirral Chamber membership.

The winners have been chosen for their contributions to the development of Wirral's economic growth, as well as their encouragement of initiative and creativity, and their work in making Wirral and the neighbouring Liverpool City Region into centres of corporate excellence.

The numerous applications received were carefully considered by the three-person judging panel, which was made up of Ben Lavell (Wirral Council's Economic Development Manager), Chris Lee (Director of Start-Yard), and Paula Basnett (Chair, Wirral Chamber of Commerce), before it was decided which entries would advance to the final event.

Paula Basnett, Chair, Wirral Chamber of Commerce said, "We are delighted to be hosting this event once more to recognise the outstanding efforts, commitment, and tenacity of our businesses and people who have persevered in achieving remarkable success despite the challenges of yet another demanding year for enterprises. The judging panel had a tough time choosing finalists because of the high calibre of all the award submissions, but we are convinced that they will continue to promote Wirral as a hub for innovation, creativity, and the overall contribution to our shared economic progress”.

Chris Lee (Director of Birkenhead based Start-Yard) agreed in saying, "The standard of the winning entries made the judging process very difficult, and all of the participating organisations should be immensely proud of themselves. I would like to congratulate and thank all applicants on behalf of Wirral Business Awards. I also wish you a happy and successful evening on June 30th at Woodside Food & Market”.

Ben Lavell, the Economic Development Manager for Wirral Council, concluded by saying, "Wirral Council is delighted to continue our support of the Wirral Business Awards. It is lovely to acknowledge and, without a doubt, honour every one of the organisations and participants who entered this year. I am pleased that Wirral has a vibrant business community that makes significant contributions to economic growth, innovation and success on a local, regional, and national level”.

On Friday 30th June, the award celebration event will be held at the Mersey waterfront based, Woodside Food & Market venue in Birkenhead. It will be hosted by Barry Roberts (Wirral Chamber Board Director), together with a glittering Masquerade Ball following the awards featuring live music provided by the popular music group, The Deadbeats.
